PATRICK PETERSON BLOG: CHECKING OUT THE CORVETTE ZR1

Hey everyone, I decided to switch things up this week and look at a 2013 model that could possibly be the next car added to my collection.

Like I’ve said in the past I grew up a Chevy Boy, so when I started looking my attention instantly was brought to the 2013 Corvette ZR1. This car is a combination of pure power, sleek design, and 60 years of tradition.

From the power side you can’t get much more than the Corvette ZR1’s V8 engine. This engine has 638 horsepower and features torque of 604 pounds per foot, leading to a 0-to-60 time of 3.4 seconds.

Yeah, it’s pretty safe to say this car has plenty of get-up. The top speed of the Corvette ZR1 is 205 mph, and of course you can test that out on the track.

One of my favorite aspects of this engine is the roar it gives when you put it to work. I know last year’s model sure turned my head.

The performance of the Corvette ZR1 is incredible, but the style of it is even better. Chevy has taken the 60 years of tradition from this car and made it into a sleek but classic design, and it looks beautiful.

The exterior displays the classic Corvette flow of the body, but also features aspects of modern-day sports cars. As for the interior it’s nothing but the finest, with leather seats and built in information dock.

Overall, I think this car would look great in black complimented by a white stripe that is outlined by red piping, much like my black Cardinals jersey.

Well that’s all for this week, as always thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to follow me on Facebook and Twitter @RealPeterson21.

The Arizona Cardinals' second-year cornerback and kick returner has a passion for muscle cars and will review automotive trends throughout the season on his "P2's Keys to the Ride" blog. Peterson's dynamic rookie year included tying a single-season NFL record with four touchdowns on punt returns. A unanimous All-American at LSU, the 6-1, 219-pound Peterson was the fifth overall pick of the 2011 draft after turning in the second-fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
