Saints LB Chamberlain injured vs. Jaguars
NEW ORLEANS (AP) New Orleans Saints reserve linebacker Chris Chamberlain appeared to hurt his left knee in the first half of Friday night's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chamberlain was hurt on a running play in the second quarter. He was not credited with the tackle but was near the scrum where Montell Owens was taken down.
He remained down for several minutes before being helped to his feet and off the field with a trainer under each arm. He put only minimal weight on his left leg. Trainers appeared to be examining his knee on the sideline, then took him to the locker room on a cart.
Chamberlain was signed as a free agent from St. Louis, where he played under new Saints defensive coordinator and former Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
