Jets facing plenty of questions entering season

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) The New York Jets have plenty of questions less than a week before their season opener against Buffalo.

Is the offense really that inept? Can Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow co-exist? What exactly will Tebow's role be? Has Mike Tannenbaum provided Rex Ryan with enough talent to return to the playoffs?

Always confident, Ryan says this might be his best team. Now, the Jets get to prove it.

Rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill says Monday that the attention on the team's inability to score touchdowns during the preseason was ``a little strange,'' but he adds that now the games count and ``we're looking to put on a show.''

Defensive lineman Mike DeVito says the Jets always seem to be underdogs, but they thrive in these types of situations.

Damon Denson Hopefully the preseason will not be an indication of how well the Jets will play this year. I'm still not sure if Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow can co-exist.

Tony Coats Great points Tim and Billy

Billy Taylor The jets are going to play percentage ball and allow their defense to lead them. If their off does not turn the ball over they have a chance.there are a lot of young QBs in the AFC that gives them a chance if they can use Tebow effectively

Tim Massaquoi Well the pressure is on and the Jets will struggle because of their leadership. To me Rex Ryan has put way too much pressure on them, now he is trying something different this year by holding back on his comments but the years of trash talk has accumulated to the point where his room for error is a minimal so they have to win or go home. We'll see how the season plays out.....

Tony Coats I think the Jets will struggle to "turn it on" offensively week one against the newly revamped Bills defense. Plus rookies shouldn't talk about "putting on a show," especially in New York, rookie....

Robert LaVette Rookie Stephen Hill's comment about the attention given to the Jets inability to score touchdowns as "a little strange" is a bit naive because it is not normal for good offensive football teams to kick only field goals in the pre-season and be able to turn it on in the regular season. As an offensive unit the good teams score touchdowns in the practice games and this translates to touchdowns in the real games. No ones sure about these Jets on offense.
