VIDEO: Josh Morgan blows 'Skins chances with dumb penalty
Josh Morgan isn't the first player to be goaded into a dumb play by Cortland Finnegan, just the latest. But of all the players who have made the mistake of retaliating against St. Louis' defensive back Morgan perhaps erred the worse in Washington's 31-28 loss on Sunday.
The Redskins were moving with less than two minutes left when Morgan caught a pass from Robert Griffin III and was taken down by Finnegan. But when Finnegan gave him a shove Morgan responded by throwing the ball at his adversary, drawing a drive-killing 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Redskins were left to try a 62-yard field goal, which they missed. Check out the YouTube to see Morgan's tantrum.
Tyrone Crawford Man I couldnt do this to my team, no matter how heated I got! Team first!
Dick Walter Pat, a "tragedy"? I thought it is a "Game" or is it "big time entertainment/Business? The Mid-East is a tragedy.
Marq Cerqua It's always the guy who retaliates!!! C'mon man!
Patrick Heenan I saw the whole play on Red Zone & when both players got up ,Morgan threw the ball at the Ram player. The Ref had to throw the flag that put the Skins out of field goal range. Kick missed & Skins lose. Tragedy!
Chris Jones I got to say real dumb Morgan! You put your kicker in a dumb looking position thinking he was drop a 62 yard field goal! What was this man thinking? You should of looked at the situation the team was in and thought about that move. That looked like anger management issue to me! But let's move on and learn from your mistakes. You would get your time to get him back. This is football. Always think of the team while playing and this stuff won't happen. Always give the media something good to say!
Jerome McDougle Got to be smart can't hurt your team.
Troy Drayton The last man always get caught. It cost the Redskins a win. You have to be more discipline.
Tony Coats Finnegan is a master manipulator! Got just what he wanted from Morgan...
Courtney Brown yeah. that was pretty stupid. he had no self control in the heat of that moment
Larry Stevens Got to eliminate bone head plays those mistakes will cost you the season
